About the speaker

Ken Clark | Deputy Agent for the North West | Bank of England

Ken Clark joined the Bank as Deputy Agent for the North West in April 2022.

A former academic, he has published widely in the area of labour economics and held a number of leadership roles in higher education.

Between 2015 and 2021 Ken served as the economist member of the School Teachers' Review Body which advises the Department for Education on teacher pay in English schools.

He holds an undergraduate degree in Politics and Political Economy from the University of Glasgow and a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Manchester.

Ken lives in the High Peak and enjoys running and listening to music in his spare time.

About the chair

James McMillan | Portfolio Director

James McMillan is a portfolio director and entrepreneur, providing fractional support to start-up and scale-up SMEs. His vast experience from a 20 year plus career cuts across practice and industry with a focus on business growth and exit, having worked in everything from corporate finance and c-suite finance roles, to HR, strategy, logistics and operations whether for high profile brands such as LVMH and BT Group, or via his advisory business Audeo Fortis. Also, a former IoD Non-Executive Director of the Year, he holds NED and advisory positions on boards spanning from e-commerce to social impact measurement.
